~ Plunge Pool ~

When water levels rise you will hear the rumble from the parking lot at Silver Falls State Park. The North Falls are the loudest of the ten waterfalls in the canyon, it is the 3rd highest at 136 ft, but the waterflow at the top is restricted and doesn't allow the water to spread out. This creates a narrow and heavy volume of water to plummet down on a concentrated area to the rocks below. Also, the deep cavern behind the waterfall intensifies the noise level and it echoes off the steep canyon walls.
