Waterfalls
The sound of water cascading down from high above is the beauty of water in motion. Welcome to the pristine white water of the Pacific Northwest.

~ South Falls ~
The ground hog was right! Winter was not done with us yet.
Silver Falls State Park received 12" inches of fresh snow last Thursday. It has an elevation of about 1,000 ft with some deep canyons and 10 large waterfalls that range from 28 ft to 178 ft.
I focused all of my attention on this waterfall to limit my driving and hiking time in deep snow and icy conditions. It is 177 ft high.

4 weeks agoLovely winter capture of the ice/snow covered branches and bridge. Don't blame you for not wanting to venture into areas where it is unclear where the safe 'footing' is.

4 weeks agoYou are a hardy soul to get to this falls in the deep snow....exquisite winter wonderland....it might be a b/w shot except for the color by the falling water! Gorgeous!

4 weeks agoIt's hard to imagine 12" of snow. That would be overwhelming to me and most everyone in Texas. It does make for a beautiful winter scene, but it makes me shiver a bit thinking about how cold it must be there. Fantastic capture and perfectly done in b/w
