The spectacular Lewis River in southwest Washington is a 95 mile tributary of the Columbia River. In the fall, the riverbanks and waterfalls are flourishing with an incredible display of color. My friend and I hiked for two days on several trails, climbed over logs, and carefully stepped on slippery moss covered rocks with 25 lbs of camera equipment on our backs. This particular spot was photographed from the top of the Lower Lewis Falls.
