~ The Cold Wind Blows ~
The bow section of the shipwreck, Peter Iredale. This was taken on the first King Tide of 2022 on the northern Oregon Coast. It ran aground on October 25, 1906 while waiting for a pilot vessel before entering the mouth of the Columbia River enroute to Portland.
The captain and his 27 crewmen, including 2 stowaways were safely rescued by members of a lifesaving station from Point Adams.

on January 12, 2022What an interesting sad happening for the ship. I am amazed that a portion of it is still standing as a reminder of the tragedy in 1906. It's so incredible that there was no loss of life. This is a fabulous capture and it certainly do look very cold there.

on January 12, 2022Super capture of the waves hitting the remains of the wreck...amazing it is still there after more than 100 years of being buffeted by the tides and weather.
